I think it would be a good idea if we split the bands section into smaller, genre based sub-sections. One for metal/hardcore, one for indie/acoustic, one for punk, one for hip-hop etc.
It would make things easier for people to check out the locals that they might be into, and it would also be a good preparation for scene growth. As the scene grows, there will hopefully be an explosion of young bands inspired by the current ones, and it would make things easier to find imo.
Another thing that would be cool having the music in general section be split up into different genre sections, parallel to the bands section. It's just an idea, take it or leave it.

just make it basic, it doesnt have to be broken down into specifics.
For instance the genres could be:
Pop/Rock
Indie/Acoustic
Metal/Hardcore
Rap/Hip Hop
Dance/Techno
simple.

I think genres are fucked nowadays.
People have some stupid thought that what they're doing...so they'd ALL wanna be in every category, because they're "COOL" and mix "e'rything"!

SV would be in the hardcore category for sure.
while they may not possess the hardest of hardcore, most "rock bands" don't have brutal breakdowns, which they do.
think of beloved, and tell me they don't have hardcore tendencies.
which brings me to my next question, what are they doing nowadays?
hopefully still making that beautiful music.
