It was fucking awesome. Best Eugene show within the past four years easily. Brahmin-We didn't do that great, but I'm not being too hard on myself because I walked three miles to get to the show at a very brisk pace, and then pretty much played immediately. The Peavey 5150+ I borrowed sounded amazing though. Jeff's vocals were really strong.
Pantheon-I want Justin's guitar gear so fucking bad. Equipment-wise they're set for life. wish the vocals were a little louder, probably the PA's fault.
Almost is Nothing-Man. They put on a show. A lot of energy, nice little Iron Maiden vibe going. The crowd got wild and had a lot of fun, I've never seen dancers and moshers get along better.
Jean Grey-Always mind blowing. Bannon is an intense performer.
Overall it was the best show I've been to in a long time. I liked playing on the floor a lot. All the bands were great, the crowd was great, it was just the shit. If anyone books an Epic Space show in the future, put Brahmin on the bill.
Write your own.

<---missed the last 2 bands :[[
I fuckin loved the part I was there for though, I dug the lil 'chillin in a garage' vibe lol. And the hardcore kids didn't do anything wrong, least not while I was there. I was actually impressed :}
all in all pretty woop ass.

while i wouldnt go as far as to say "best show in eugene in the past 4 years", i did have a good time. i was actually stoked to see how small the place was. it was so tiny you couldnt help but hang out with people you didnt know. in my experience, its places like that that a scene is born (or reborn...)
lots of sound issues though.... brahmin sounded terrible. not because they suck, but because the gear some of them were using was not eq'ed right (brett!). The PA definitely should have been louder for all the bands. all the drums actually sounded great in there though. So yeah, that said, brahmin did a great job with stage presence and bringing the brute.
Pantheon was better than i thought they would be. i'd never hear them before. the had some straight up brutal parts man!
Almost is nothing is way fun to watch! they put on a really good show, very professional. and they sounded amazing! not enough words to say how impressed i was.
Jean Grey was super sick too. the bass and guitar sounded amazing. thats all i heard though... as much as i love jon and bannons abilities, they should have turned down a bit so they could hear the vocalist. no joke, there were times that i didnt know if the vocalist was doing anything until i looked over to him...
anyways, the crux of the show was that EVERYONE WAS HAVING A GOOD TIME! for the most part, people were able to stand off to the side and watch the band, whilst still others were able to get in the it and have a good time. people helped up their fallen comrades, apologized for misguided swings, etc. AWESOME SHOW GREAT JOB!

I think it could've been eq'd better as well, but he's playing in drop G through a Crate. You should've stayed on my side, the 5150+ I played through made me sound brute. Andddddd, I think Jeff was pretty damn audible. I heard him better than anyone else that night.

I find it kind of interesting that after a show that had problems (fighting, drama, etc.) these post-show threads absolutely blow up.
And then when there's a really posi show with no problems, you could hear a pin drop in the post-show threads.
Someone start a fight at the next show!

There were some bitchings about people getting intentionally nailed during Jean Grey, and, well, I will admit, there were parts where I think everybody got a little too rowdy. I know I pretty much smashed somebody into the wall on accident, lol.
As for the rest of the shit.
The sound in there was definitely a little interesting. Very drowned, in my opinion. I mean, damn. It's a garage. What do ya expect. Lots of reverb and sound waves just getting fucked up in that small room. Really though it didn't sound bad at all. I mean, I've heard shit a lot clearer before, but it still sounded POWERFUL.
And frankly, I think the low vocals were a problem for everybody but Brahmin really. Even almost is nothing, man. Couldn't hear him at all. Which bummed me out. And then Dan was totally drowned out. I don't think this is any shit against any of the bands really, it's just nobody seems to be cranking the fuckin PA's loud enough.
As for guitars being way too loud: I'm actually really happy that several bands around here, especially Arkhum and Jean Grey, have been cranking those amps way the hell out. It's not only intense and absolutely ear-raping, but you can actually HEAR how sick some of the riffs are. They actually POP through the mix. It's sweet. Although I will say I think everybody really cranked out their guitar tones and put 'em out front, except perhaps Brahmin. But like Perry said, it's a Crate in G#.
It's just. Gonna. Be. Mush.
Frankly it was an awesome damn show. I had a hellaciously good time, and for the most part everybody else seemed to as well. And the lights during Jean Grey were actually pretty badass in my opinion.
If those kinda lights fuck with your head, try moshing to some Lamb of God during strobage. Dear. God.
