Well? If you don't want it than just say so, I don't give a shit. I think if you had mentioned the dance team dressing up like terrorists it would have made a more positive reaction.

Well? If you don't want it than just say so, I don't give a shit. i guess i just don't see the relevance of a dance team to like down tempo underground hip hop. lol yes. and for the record its the weakest mpc akai makes, also the cheapest. its still like $2000, isn't it? haha. hardly, the mpc 1000 is around 1k, the mpc 2500 is around 2k, and up and up and up as the numbers get higher, the capabilities increase, as does the size and quality. i have the mpc 500, costed me a lil over 400 cause i got like 30 percent off, hardly 2000 dollars.

yuh yuh, not myne though, and actually akai just came out with a new one, even smaller then myne, and its just for drums, its pretty sick, the pads are suppppper supppper sensitive too, so its just like you barely touch them to initiate the sound, pretty sicky, anyways, when we gonna make some tunes brohan?

I just don't think I'd get one just because they're so costly, unless I became huge like dr. dre or whatever. I'm down whenever. I work Sun-Thurs 7am to 3:30pm. so..anytime outside of those hours I'm free. whats your schedule like? Did you want to do like a fruityloops + mpc colab? all fl? all mpc? making beats is no problem, its adding tunes that is difficult, but I'm sure you know this. I'm gonna get fruityloops tonight when I get home so I'll have something to work with.

I have school 8-12 mon thu thurs and work 2-7 on tues weds fri and sunday, so maybe like thursday?

Thursday would work for me. I'm not sure if I'm free on this Thursday, but you have my number (I think?) so you can hit me up on that and we'll go from there.

Thats what most beats are made with is sampled shit from other sources, and then manipulated to fit the song, usually its like an acapella vocal sample, or some string or key sample. check out www.myspace.com/theblockishot he is a producer/instrumental artist that only samples, everything you hear is samples from assorted sources put together to make a song that sounds complete, he is incredible, and more or less the reason i make music. also i dont have your number, pm it to me.

I'm thinking more along the lines of how like Dr.Dre/Eminem produces beats. They don't use samples...do they? But for example Kanye West uses samples in most of his songs (minus 808's and heartbreak) like the old song voices or whatever in his songs.... word?

The thing is a sample could be any sound, some people even sample drums, most any loop you hear is sampled from something. Most of ritual of battle by aotp was sampled. The eminem song the way i am was sampled, you can tell cause that one continuous loop and you can here the crackling from the crappy record quality lol.

I guess I thought producers actually created beats and crap.... thats weird to me. I guess when we meet up I'll have you show me some shit that might help it make more sense, and listening to that guy. I mean, it makes sense to a point. I just don't know how they can sample (or "chop") like JUST a bass hit, or a snare hit without getting vocals/other stuff....
