I dont have anything against heavy music but it seems to me that a lot of the people on here are in metal/hardcore/screamo/whateveryouwanttocallit bands and I just wanted to know who out there is in bands that are guitar based but not drop tuned or has a drummer with only one bass pedal. Like I said I dont have anything against that music just not my thing.

That's funny to me. That's probably a pretty accurate statement because that's kind of the origin of this little board.
To answer the question, I have a new record out next week that's mostly melodic rock, with touches of heavier tones, as well as influence by Johnny Cash and Elton John.
Of Mountains is another band that does more melodic music around here. I can't speak for anyone else....

there are a few people on this board that are in your same boat, but youre absolutely right, because as sam said this board was brought to fruition through the heavier music scene. however i think if you stick around you will find that most of these super br00tal metal heads are also into the single pedal standard tuning sorta stuff.

Still Vivid is light-ish with heavier parts. Not really much/any screaming.

yeah but we are detuned and have double kick... so i decided to avoid sensless plugging to someone who doesnt want to hear it.
but now that you mention it........ im in a little band called still vivid... we avoid most to all screaming and keep it pretty melodical and experimental... if you want to check our music out were playing at taboo tonight at 9.
just cause perry brought it up.

This board didn't really come to fruition because of heavier music.
The original people on here were just more inclined to listen to heavier music. Originally it was just me, Danny and a bunch of his friends. So yeah, they all dug the heavier stuff, for the most part.
But honestly, I'm not too into anything very heavy. The most "metal" or "hardcore" (or whatever you wanna define as "heavy") I go would be Every Time I Die or Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster.
Other than late, I listen to fruity 80's music and Foreigner.

..when I was 12. That was my first concert. I cant think of a more awesome way to break your live show cherry than watching Jukebox Hero. Needless to say it was pretty sweet

my band, ( a makeshift resolution) is definitely not heavy at all haha so not all the bands/people on here are all about the heavier stuff

I'm in a ska punk band. That's not metal at all.
We have a trumpet player and a sax player. can't really be metal with those haha.
i'd like to try though, for shits and giggles.

Other than late, I listen to fruity 80's music and Foreigner. That's redundant.
