It bothers me that this entire site is generally focused on one scene and style of music. There's a lot more music, bands and people out there. I think personally that if everyone claims to love music so much they should be checking out all kinds of music. Otherwise you just like YOUR music; which isn't very open minded at all. I've been to hardcore shows, i've been to metal shows, i've been to thrash shows, i've been to hip-hop shows, ska shows, punk shows, reggae shows, psyschobilly shoes and if there was something i've never heard of i'd go check it out instead of just sticking to the same bands and shows over and over.
Basically, what i'm getting at is that people on here have been saying that there aren't shows and there isn't anything going on right now, but there is. I can list off ten shows in the next month going on but i won't see any of you guys at them, which is stupid.
But anyways, I'd like to see scene's come together and support each other more. Word up.

Word up. amen broham. I don't necessarily think the site is "focused on one scene" moreso, the people who chose to be apart of the site are more into the similar genre of music...I guess? People like what they know they like and many show goers aren't going to shell out $3 to $7 for a bunch of local acts that may or may not tickle their fancy. But that's besides the point, I really think the majority of people here "go to shows" for reasons other than the actual bands themselves. IMO I feel the local scene is moreso about, Who else is going? How many cool points will I get for being there? Is there going to be a pit so I can start a fight? Social status. Ect. Which...is all bullshit. Personally, I wish there were more harsh/experimental noise shows going on, but there isn't. and if local shows were mostly free, you best your happy ass I'd make it to a lot more if I could find time for them. 10 shows coming up? Add them to the calender. Make a post about them. Teach us your ways Nick!

i agree with cory.
on a related note, i have been running into a lot of people who used to go to shows for the bands, but dont go anymore. when i ask them why they dont go to shows anymore, they say its because of the people who go for other reasons besides the music... which is no reason to give up on shows... but i understand what theyre saying.
by the way, show tonight at EPIC SPACE!

Yeah there is. I'm open minded. I don't go to too many shows outside my own little "closed minded" scene because I don't know about them.

Psh. I'd go to every single show EVER if I could.... or if I knew about them... unless I don't like the music, because then there's no point.
But, I would go if I had the money, and knowledge of the shows.

I'm with Jil: I would go to every show ever if I had the money and the time. But we do really need to post more shows from other genres like Nick said. Like stuff at the WoW Hall, for instance the Phenomenauts show I got a few of my friends to go to had about 50 total people for one of the best shows I've ever seen put on in my life. Rockabilly/ska show I heard nothing about from really anywhere but the WoW Hall site. It's just a shame, I guess. Maybe get someone designated to a single venue and post the shows that are coming up there on the calendar on here?
