What would it be? I'm not a huge gearhead like Sean Corkum, so I don't know what I should be aiming for. I've heard good things about ENGL, Madison, Peavey (Jsx, XXX, 6505+ and 5150) and Mesa. All of them are way spendier than I can afford but which one should I shoot for? Is there a better brand I don't know of for that type of music?

Fuck that Sean Corkum guy. He's a butt-tard.
You could also shoot for Bugera, Perry. A 6262 sounds pretty much identical to a 6505. And it's only like 550.
Madison makes the Prophecy, a solid state head, that's like 600. You shouldn't discount them, as a good solid state amp can sound killer for death metal. Very precise. Line 6 Spider Valves are killer too, just ask Bannon.
Top of my list for you though would be 6505 or 5150 or something very similar like a Bugera or a Madison. Engls are hellaciously brutal, but expensive.
Oh, I've got a distortion pedal you might wanna try through your current amp dude. Digitech TL2 Hardwire. It's pretty goddamn grindy.

See, the problem is my shitty little 60 watt Peavey Triumph is it's broken to where it won't switch over to a clean channel. No distortion pedals til I get me a new amp. Bugera 6262 you say? Almost identical to a 6505? I might have to go that route seeing as how I'm a broke bastard. I didn't know that Line 6 actually made quality products. Strange.
