I think it would be much easier to have a website to display shows, bands, venue info and such. Then have these boards for dicussion. Sort of like the old www.eugenerockmusic.com website. I'm not the best web designer but I'll try something out and you get let me know what you think. I'll also make a proboards forum in a way I think it will be more captivating for people to engage. Look at the stats, over 100 members and like 5-10 active members. So, I'll use my free time create something. It should take a while but I'll do it. If no one likes it then well, I tried. By the way, does anyone have any graphic that they have made. I could really use them. If not I'll learn how to use photoshop, I just installed the extended version haha. +1 for keygens (that's for Milo)

Awesome Idea!!!! I loved that old site and thought it reached a shit ton of people. I remember it had a lot of resources on there and well as links. Why did it go down?

Dude I have no idea. Probably the same reason shows stopped happening.

i disagree. i doubt the shit that took the shows down took down a website. i more or less would assume it was because the shows went down, so a music board with no local music to talk about isn't exactly what you'd call the "happening" board. so, in order to make this board prosper, we'll need something more than website additions. we can use all these suggestions, but none of them mean a thing without action within the local scene. physical action. we'll see how that works out first, and then when we start to get some kind of growth from there, we'll grow here, and it will only accumulate from there.

Im always thinking bigger. Its a good point to see what happens before you put a lot of work into a site.

I think that we do need a calendar on 541musicscene Myspace. And maybe a site with a calendar on it that's not so constrictive.

I don't think a website is really needed. I mean there is a myspace where people can be friends with the site, and the forums where people can talk with other people. the only thing we really need to work on (and in my opinion one of the more important parts...) is the calender. this is the bread and butter of the whole thing, since shows and show promotion are what we are all here for.

Wouldn't the calender be part of a website. Honestly the Calender on here is sort of hidden and not really user friendly.

Wouldn't the calender be part of a website. Honestly the Calender on here is sort of hidden and not really user friendly. Yeah I def agree on the needs of a better calender. We need something like this: beta.satyriconpdx.com/or this hawthornetheater.com/like an events page. something easy on the eyes, more information, and more formatted. But the question is how do we get this, given the limited customization of the proboards calender....??

also, if there was a website I would assume less people would be active on these boards due to having to click multiple times to get to the forums. but direct access to the calender of events is a must and should probably be one of the first things people see.
