first off i just read like the entire thread and my brain is going to explode.
so my view on the basic principles on straight edge are like one of the best things ever. if you live in a home or whatever where you feel pressured to drink yourself into a coma or frying your brain, i feel like this is a way for you to escape from this dangerous lifestyle.
as far as religion: i don't consider myself religious. i love jesus with everything and when i read the bible i feel that's what he's trying to tell us. to love everybody. it doesn't matter who they are. you love everybody cause we're all the same ordinary people. there aren't any hierarchy people who are above anyone cause we all screw up. we're human.
oh yeah and the whole "religion as a crutch" thing: i've been criticized and literally yelled at in my face for what i believe in. i think it would be easier to not believe in god. but i can't deny something when i feel it's what is true. and i believe everything about jesus. not because it makes my life easier (which it doesn't) but because i believe it to be truth.
oh and brandon, you're a fag. jkjk hah we need to hang soon. i want a texas hold 'em rematch.

dotn get so worked up about what others are doing. I'd like to extend this to "what others are saying" as well. I'm sorry, I can understand what your saying and I even agree with most of it, but the whole tone is hypocritical to the message. Oh and +1000000 to brett. I'm sorry people yelled in your face but I would have loved to have been there to back you up. It would have been epic. Not necessarily talking about physical violence...being...a pacifist...and all.

Wow. This is when "To Each Their Own" is most prominent as the most important message. Yay, Phil. You should have left it after that part.

yep.
new topic! manmade global warming is a consipracy by environmentalist companies to get people to buy their products, and their Pope is al gore, from whom we buy indulgences (carbon credits) to purge our environmental sins.
oh oops, ill repost that in the troll thread.

Srsly tho, global warming is a fucking joke. Our global climate fluctuates over millions of years and now since it's following the course of history, we're freaking out. Whatever. The hockey stick graph that Gore uses is flawed and made by a faulty equation in the computer that the data was put in, which makes every data plot look like a hockey stick. CO2 absorption in the atmosphere also just goes at a logarithmic rate so we've pretty much done whatever "damage" we can do to the ozone, if there is damage we're doing. Oh yeah, the man who invented and runs the Weather Channel disputes and discards the whole idea of Global Warming. Look it up because he makes the most valid points about the subject. NVM, here are links: newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2007/11/07/weather-channel-founder-global-warming-greatest-scam-historywww.john-daly.com/hockey/hockey.htmThis link is a petition signed by over 31,000 scientists refuting global warming, which I find very humorous. www.oism.org/pproject/lulz at this: Source - www.oism.org/pproject/No, don't worry about it. The Troll Thread lives vicariously through this.

all Im trying to say is there are way more damaging things happening around us. care more about your own health and let others worry about theirs. getting bitter over someones beliefs or choices is stupid. unless they are trying to force it on you. then its justified.
sorry I did rant a bit, my apologies.
to each there own. mind your own bees wax.

Look it up because he makes the most valid points about the subject. true climate does fluctuate, but air quality is important. wanton destruction of habitat is not. Just because volcanoes will spew out more CO2 than silly humans could ever hope to, doesn't mean we need to run around paving over shit, which we do at an exponential rate (that's what the hockey stick thing is, raising an occurrence by an exponent) As for straight edge and douchebaggery, it's the same as any other belief system. Having a name for it, being a part of something is what gets us all through the day, no matter if it's jesus, booze, nihilism, capitalism or straight edge. It is called culture, and we as humans have required it to function for 10,000 years.

Having a name for it, being a part of something is what gets us all through the day, no matter if it's jesus, booze, nihilism, capitalism or straight edge. It is called culture, and we as humans have required it to function for 10,000 years. Yes, carelessness is not excused by a flawed design of an imaginary climate problem, BUT the excess of buying things that will be "good for the atmosphere" when releasing excess CO2 in the atmosphere really doesn't affect anything. The logarhythmic absorption rate has been used to it's potential and now is not going to be any more of a problem if we were to release 10,000,000 aerosol cans of hair spray into the atmosphere (it would smell terrible [but then again, everyone would have nice hair (win/win?)]). I'm just saying that global warming is the biggest fucking joke ever, and Al Gore knows it but has everyone believe that we're fucking up the world for the children, even though there are MUCH BIGGER FISH TO FRY, like a)war b)poverty c)China d)hatred in general e)Tony Danza f)Bill O'Reilly I think America needs to reassess it's priorities. Instead of waging war with someone, just have all of our troops here so when they (being anyone) attack us, we have home court advantage and are not forced to rebuild a society that is not receptive to our presence there. Nobody would attack us if ALL of our troops were at home and ready for battle. That's all I'm sayin'. And that Global Warming is a scam. www.john-daly.com/hockey/hockey.htmDid you look at this? Because it really does explain how it's flawed. Srsly tho, global warming is a fucking joke. Our global climate fluctuates over millions of years and now since it's following the course of history, we're freaking out. Whatever. so yeah, on that note, even though manmade global warming is a crock, being kind to our environment and using our resources responsibly is important. im down with being environmentally friendly, mr gore, just dont lie to me to make me think it's life or death.
