Alright first off, I'm really stoked about this little community we got going here. I can feel that this is gonna be something special.
With that said, let's all take into consideration what we can do to encourage a little growth here. I am stoked to see a bunch of "regulars" contributing, but it's time to get some new blood.
Help out the community here by telling your friends. Let's all post links on our Myspace profiles, post bulletins, comment and message people. If we show people what we've got here, they may want to be a part of it. They just need a little encouragement.
Word of mouth is huge. I can't tell you how many people I've run into on campus who I told about the site. Most actually ended up checking it out. Tell people face to face, in person, that we've got something going here at 541musicscene.com.
Also, go to shows. Talk to musicians and fans in this community. Let them know what we're all about (If anyone's interested, Alex from Of Mountains will be at the Taboo show tomorrow night handing out fliers. If you wanna help, approach him at the show and grab a stack of fliers. They blatantly and unashamedly promote this here website.) Let's get the word out!
I'm stoked to see some new faces here. Anyone else got any ideas?

two words: EUGENE WEEKLY! -or REGISTER GUARD
Any sort of press would be good. Talk to news stations and get someone in the media to do an article on the site/movement.

Radio stations, too. 88.1 to be specific, they would be more than happy to promote our site and our shows.

As well as local music. Someone could talk them into inviting a band down for an interiew. I think it would reach out to a bunch of college students who are into music but don't know where to go to listen to it locally cause they aren't from here.

Yeah, we've been discussing things along that nature. -local music compilation, presented by 541musicscene.com, with on site links. -shirts. everyone wears them. -fliers, everywhere. every post and pocket. -news, radio, paper, and shout outs at the shows. -stickers, buttons, etc.
This, of course, costs money, which the current work in progress.

All these promotion techniques Danny and I have discussed at length since the inception of the site.
We're gonna wait a little while to promote it to KLCC, KWVA, K105, KNRQ, The Eugene Weekly, The Register Guard, The Ticket, 20Below, The Emerald, and The Torch until we are a little further along in the venue stage. Not only do we wanna promote this community, but we'd like to have more of a tangible object to promote.
Shirts will happen soon, it's just a matter of using the connections we have to get the best deal possible so that we can hand them out for free at shows and stuff.
Fliers are already in heavy circulation. The next 2 weeks, expect to be handed at least 27 of the same flier if you're hanging out anywhere on campus or downtown.
Stickers are definitely in the works. They are affordable, last for a while, and get the word out there. Expect those very soon. (PM me if you have any sweet designs you think we should use. Keep in mind, it'll probably be black and white.)
So yeah, let's just promote the shit out of this site using the resources we currently have available, and we'll make it grow from there.

I will sticker the hell out of everything. I know someone who could also stencil stuff up if that'd work. I think it's be pretty solid, personally. . amidoinitrite?

Buttons are pretty easy to make...
If someone was willing to invest $300 to get a button making machine, they could easily make buttons for this site as well as having bands hire them to make buttons for them. You could also make buttons and sell them to booster clubs or political organizations. You'd make your money back pretty quick
