There is only one album that needs to be mention from 2008...
FEAR BEFORE!
Possibly the greatest album of all time.
And the biggest dissapointment of 2008 would be Emmure: The Respect Issue, I was a very huge fan of Goodbye to the Gallows, but the Respect Issue was horrible.

The Respect Issue wasn't that bad. Not my favorite band but the new album is just as good as the old. Cory and I saw them live and they fucking rule live, no matter if you like them or not.

Live they were probably amazing, the reason The Respect Issue was so bad was because it was just all reused stuff, and they tried to be more "br00tal" then the last album. If your gonna make CD's that are pure breakdowns you can't make more than one or two, The Complete Guid To Needlework was good too, I just didn't like the low production of the album.

First off, the low production on an EP is what makes an EP. I loved it and kicked ass in my car, ask anyone about my system who has ridden in the little VW. Also about their albums, I got two words for ya, HALF TIME. Its groovy and keeps you moving, it's past the whole breakdown thing. Breakdowns are too generalized. Emmure is just a step below hardcore and a step above sludge metal. I like to compare them to Liferuiner, on the topic of half time, as well as DRAH.

I agree on the subject about the EP being low production and thats what makes it an EP, but to be honest, the only bands I can listen to with low production are local Oregon and Washington bands, just because for some reason I feel closer to them. Liferuiner is good as well, I just knew the new Emmure album was doomed when Kurt Angle was on the cover.

I didn't "hardcore" dance, but I was boppin' my head like I was at a Tupac concert. It was amazing. I agree about the respect issue not being as bumpin' as Goodbye. it's still an alright album, definitely not top ten list worthy.
