Guitar and I thought I'd ask for some advice on what to get. If you don't know me, I play in a deathcore band, and we're really breakdown oriented, so we drop tune to G. That's the problem with my current guitar, I got the thing all modified for G tuning, thickened up my string gauge, set the action up, took the thing to Rick Kneale. It as constant problems, and with constant problems comes constant maintenance, which means constant money out of my pocket. That's the main thing I'm worried about, getting a guitar that adjusts to drop G tuning and modifications. Any help?

yeah, your guys' music would drop in cool level like 84% in standard...
not meant to be taken as a slam.

i know haha. Same with the majority of deathmetal bands though. It's hard to be anything but melodic and thrashy with metal in standard. But I get what you're saying. I'm not asking what type of guitar as in baritone or seven string, more like what brands/models. I've had the same guitar since I was twelve and really haven't experimented much, so I'm just looking for some advice.

I've always thought Ibanez, and Jackson made really wicked guitars.

Yeah, our other guitarist had an Ibanez and it didn't adjust all that well to G, plus, I've never really had a huge love for em. He got a Jackson though, and it did nicely dropped. I might try a Schecter, but I've wanted to look into ESPs for a while.

im not really a guitarist, i just play one on tv, and i say ibanez jackson or schecter... that is as long as you guys want to be like every single other metal band. if you want to be different, use baritone guitars. teppei did on alchemy index, fire of course. sounds super beefy.

I dig Jackson more than Schecter or Ibanez. Baritone might be a nice choice. They make the ESP viper in baritone.

baritones are sick if you get used to play with a longer neck. i personally love my viper baritone. and obviously, it handles low tunings well. and hey! mister ricky kneale set up my guitar as well!

He's a good man. Set up Brett's too. He rewired mine, installed my new pickup and set it up for G.
