The only thing I can think of is to arrange for there to be instruments at your destination. I think you know that you can bring large instruments on the plane but it costs extra for every lb over a certain limit so, yeah it can get expensive. If you take that rout I'd just suggest taking the lightest basses you have (if your taking an upright your pretty much screwed) or just buy cheap basses at a pawn shop or something when you land and then just pawn them back when you leave.

miloooooo, im pretty sure there are courier services that will transport larger luggage to your destination so you dont have to lug it to the airport. www.baggagequest.comwww.luggageforward.comi would play it safe and get a heavy duty case for your fiddles
