We're making a comeback. We need a band from Eugene to get out there and rep our shit. Most likely Aeolus. Not a fan of spaz-core. But these guys are amazing, and definately have their shit sorted out. So I respect them, and their music. I'm sick of hearing bands coming out of Portland, like The Shins, or Upon Beauty Rests, and (of course) American Me. Let's give the world a taste of our scene. Because I think it's way more raw and METAL! then P-Towns.

But they are more of a "niche" band. They're gonna make Eugene proud, but I don't know if they'll be able to put Eugene on the map like the Rock 'n Roll Soldiers or Cherry Poppin' Daddies did. It's just not going to reach that huge audience and be as accessible, which is totally fine. It wouldn't hurt to get this scene some "heavy" (for lack of a better all-encompassing term) credibility. I really think the next band that's gonna help put Eugene on the map is the Ty Curtis Band. Seriously, look those guys up. They're gonna be making big things happen.

Now get back on topic, or post shit like this in the "random" thread!

I think there needs to be a huge variety of "niche" bands, so we can have music for everyone. I think we need more Aeolus types, more Of Mountains types, more Jean Grey/Atonement/Brahmin bands. We need a lot of everything. I got a niche I need scratched, LAWLZ.

Which, by the way, is probably the exact opposite of what a lot of musicians around here want. But my point was, it's probably gonna take something a little more accessible to a mainstream crowd to put Eugene on the map again. One more thing....Do you really think we need more metal bands? Someone please start a good pop/punk band so we have someone that's NOT fucking heavy to play with!

There's never enough metal bands imo, but I like and play metal. I hate pop punk, but it would be good for a lot of showgoers other than me. That's why I said we need a lot of everything. I would love it if I could have a two page long list of bands to play with when we're putting on a show.

All of that together would be SPAZ-CORE, it's just abbreviated. I think Aeolus is spaz-core. All you did was read what they said their genre was on Myspace. Because that's exactly what it says. Haha

well i wouldnt call them spaz core... i get more of a happy feeling from the term spaz core, aeolus is more chaos core, more of a distraught and discontent feeling to it. but, in the end, aeolus is who/what they are, and genres are for tools.
