Once a building has been found, there will more than likely need to be some serious labor done to get it up and running as a venue
Does any have decent carpentry/construction skills? I can hang insulation/drywall, help sound proof, tape/mud, paint, knock down walls...
Also, I'm sure an electrician will have to be hired...as I don't think anyone on here has solid or reliable skills in that field

I can help with hard labor as much as a scrawny little goblin can.

I helped build my house. From framing, insulating, drywall, mudding, sanding, plumbing, electrical (I don't remember much about it though), installing windows, hanging doors, whatever it may be... If there was a date set to go over and do work... I'd sure as hell get off work and make the trip, and maybe grab my brother to help as well. Just let me know when and where!!!

Ok, you guys. So, I'll let you in on some of the progress made on this fine day. Chris and I finally were able to get in with the planning division at springfield city hall, and they last saw us they went out of their way to make a couple of phone calls to the willamilane park district, to inquire about some open spaces that we might be able to use while we build up the funds and community to have a thriving venue. They found a couple of places for us, so with that said, we will be getting shows lined up here soon. These shows, they won't be genre oriented. No "hardcore shows", or "indie shows". Like we said, this new wave that we're creating is going to be all inclusive, so expect to see a lot of talent from different sides of the musical world under one roof. So with that in mind, a lot has got to happen, but we'll talk about that once the shows are booked. This is more or less to inform you that we've made progress. Anyways, back to our meeting. We spoke with a woman in the planning division, and she got our information, and heard our proposal. She seemed fairly optimistic about it, and it was good to hear about their support to find other venues for future use as well to get the ball rolling. She's going to discuss the proposal this Tuesday, and I believe from there she'll have to check the building for appropriate zoning, whether or not we'll need a change of use, etc. So we should be hearing back from her soon enough. Also, we met with a good friend of ours, Molly (aka mollyolly), and discussed a business partnership, and a certain level of financial backing. i believe she is going to be a huge help in what we're doing, and would encourage very appreciative behavior towards her. She's going to make this process two hundred times easier. With all of that said, we'll be getting some more shows lined up here, and posted on the calendar. So when we do, be prepared to put your money where your mouth is, my friends.

I wish I was there for all of this. It's going to be interesting to see what it's like when I go back in August.
