Myspace is littered with SPAM and fake accounts that discourage people from actually reading bulletins or responding to comments and messages. For a while it was the greatest tool to promote online, but people took advantage of that and Myspace had to put tons of restrictions on their site (CAPTCHA codes to login now? Seriously?!)
Anyway, Facebook is now what Myspace used to be. They've done an amazing job at keeping out the spammers and fake accounts, and have gone to great lengths to prevent solicitation to their members.
Problem is, I have been doing the Myspace thing for so long that I am a little jaded on social networks, and haven't been able to create a legit Facebook profile and learn how to use it. They've made it so gosh darn hard to promote stuff that I get frustrated.
Do any of you guys have a legit Facebook account that you use a lot? People on Facebook tend to be more responsive to what their friends say, due to the fact that they know the site has filtered out any spammers and solicitors.
If you've got a legit profile, I say use it to promote 541musicscene.com. I have a feeling that we'd get twice the results (or more) that I get from using Myspace alone.
I know you all are active and want to do what you can to help, and that would be a very awesome thing to do and we'd all appreciate it.
Let me know if anyone else has any sweet ideas to help get the word out!

You rule, Shayne. If I could figure out to create a profile and invite everyone in the world to join, I'd do it. Can anyone else invite people, or does it have to be the group moderator?

Anyone can invite as long as you are a part of the group. Anyone can join freely through the group link I posted, I made it an open group to everyone. The group moderator only changes the info on the page, like links, pics, videos, things like that. Mods can also send messages to everyone in the group. So if 100 people joined, I could send out a mass facebook email.
