So I organized this AM and IP show coming up, they are friends of mine and they have wanted to play Eugene on their way in and out of PDX for awhile, but never had a connection. If the MM is open for business or not, were doing the show. Lets all hope it is because Paco is a good guy and that place seems like a rad venue. But anyway, I talked to AM and they are more than happy to play on all tours through Eugene and bring touring acts with them. I am getting numbers and contacts with such bands of:
Advent For the Fallen Dreams Recon Passing in Dreams and possibly Hoods (and more depending on who is touring and when)
If MM works out or any other great low-cost, all about the kids venue turns up, I want to book some shows here and there, because I'm tired of driving my ass up to PDX for mosh. Let me know what you guys think and if kids would come. I'm new to Eugene kinda. Here for school.

Here for school. im pretty positive kids would come out for those bands..i know i sure would..it'd be awesome to get some hardcore bands/shows going on here more frequently..cause as we all know theres plenty of metal shows happening always..i'd be way stoked if there was much more hardcore bands/shows happening here..and i know many other kids would be to..

I think this is a great idea We need more people to promote shows And we need people to promote shows even if they didn't set it up Those are all super sick bands, and if you promote well, then kids will for sure come out If you want any help promoting post on here and let us know so we can get a group of people to hand out flyers or some shit.

that sounds great, but i feel like you would have to charge more than 5 bones if you're going to get bands to travel to eugene from 100+ miles away. as long as it's promoted well and people don't bitch about paying a little more, it would most definitely be worth the effort.

5 bucks will probably not work in some cases. But nothing too high. All depends on the needs of the bands. It would be nice to get some touring bands coming through Eugene and have more than the same local bands playing...

What I want to know, on the general topic of future bookings, is this site dedicated just to hardcore/metal shows? that seems to be all I hear about on here, aside from Of Mountains. I guess what I want to know is, are other genre's something I should look for on another site, or is there just no supply or demand of bands in other genre's?

there are a few posts of some softer bands... and there is definitely an underground rap community that calls 541MS their home, but yeah for the most part its metal and core. and metalcore.

the forums are definately filled with metalheads and hxc kids.
Personally, I would love to see more noise rock bands. More experimental/DIY shit. Just...more music diversity in general.
There is definately also a large harsh noise scene in the 541. they just don't put on shows or are as involved in the "scene" as much as the commonly seen bands.
This whole BR0000000000000000000000TAL DEATH METAL MOTHER FUCKER shit is kind of getting tiresome. I mean don't get me wrong, I love the shit. I just wish there was more diversity amongst the bands in the 541.
If I ever get my project up to par to play a live show, we're definately not like any of the bands around here. I really doubt anyone will like us, but it'll be something different. and I'm sure it'll be entertaining to watch.
Eric, what kind of bands did you have in mind? what genres would you want to see come thru here?

I'm looking forward to that. I like my deathmetal and my hardcore more than anything else, but my mind is always open. While I'd be perfectly content with nothing but a metal/hardcore scene, other people wouldn't, so for their sake, and just because it would be fun, I hope for future diversity.

oh there will be blood!
I think it'll just be too weird for people to handle.
I doubt we'll play a show anytime soon anyways. I give us like 6 months minimum?
