Wow, firstly I have to say this was one of the best local shows I have been to in a REALLY long time.
Sadly, I think the main reason is because of the security at Taboo. Which was kind of sad at first to see the bummed out hardcore dancers. A few kids were yanked and pulled from the show, which is unfortunate but rules are rules, and we're lucky this show was even put on still after the Momento Mori meltdown. But as the night went on I think the security loosened up a bit and it was awesome to see everyone enjoying themselves and throwing down.
The biggest surprise of the night, NO FIGHTS!!!
Anyways, to the music.
Jean Grey - this was the 2nd time seeing them live and they've definitely stepped up their game. I really enjoy them live. They sound great live. Have great stage presence, and they make good music.
Atonement - Fucking br000000000000000tal. They played a new song, which was br00000tal also. I really like these guys and Cordell makes an excellent front man. Not to mention he has his name in Old English on his tummy, like me.
It Prevails - Now I'm just now getting into the hardcore music scene. I didn't get a chance to check these guys out before hand. Otherwise I'm sure I would have been more stoked about the show. But I came in not knowing anything about this band and was pleasantly surprised. I couldn't help but move a lil bit to their music.
American Me - Takes the fucking cake for this show. I liked what I heard before the show, but hearing it live was just what I needed to consider myself a fan of them. Sick, sick, and more sick. I really like these guys and would definitely love to see them again.
Overall, I would rate the show a 5/5.
Great line-up. Great sets from all the bands.
I'm glad I went. I had a nice safe spot and view of the stage where I could (as Dalin put it, lol) "look hardcore, mean mug, and headbang." Ps. Thanks for introducing yourself Dalin, you're a good kid.
If you went, tell us what you think.
At least rate the show.
