I like that whole Hitler analogy, its funny. I'm just trying to be somewhat of an intollerant asshole like I feel we should have been 2 or more years ago. These people get warnings or banned from shows for fighting, and then the same shit happens 2 weeks later because NO ONE cracks down or sticks to keeping these people out of shows. Now this posting is MOSTLY a rant, because I know how unrealistic and almost stupid it would be to STOP playing a music that you like because of people that go too far at shows. The root of this situation and I guess the "Point" of this post, is to incite maybe just the smallest hint of sarcasm and patronism in peoples minds to face the REAL reason that no one wants to go to shows. Because of the Bro Crews. I'm not gonna speak for everyone, but I will admit that I am guilty for this. The last local Eugene show that I went to was over a year ago, and the only reason I went was because I was playing there. And I'm pretty sure a fight broke out and I left. I don't like going places where I feel I know and relate to almost everyone, but have to be afraid of getting popped in the face by someone when I'm having a good time.
Perhaps the REAL post that I should have made from the start should have been, "So, how about them bro kids and starting shit at EVERY show? What can we don to change this?" ready, GO!

Well, I don't if anyone else has thought of this or not because I didn't read all of the posts. But, even if the shows didn't have hardcore bands, wouldn't the "hardcore" kids still come anyway? It's not like there's anything else to do around here.

Its not the hardcore music or the satanic metal, but I think it comes down to respect for your fellow brothers. I go to metal shows and see all the kids ninja kicking and robot punching knocking people down, not so cool unless the other person is engaging in the same regards. It is cool to see that a complete stranger can pick someone off the floor showing solidarity for one anther.

I'm pretty sure those "hardcore" kids are gonna do their dancing no matter what kinda music is being played.

Dancing just isn't done right here. The only way we could get them to stop dancing is to tell the metal bands to blastbeat like braindrill with absolutely no breakdowns, and tell all the other bands to sound like Of Mountains. I don't know bout you but I love me a good breakdown. No hardcore doesn't mean no fights. No dancing doesn't mean no fights. You all saw what happened with Facing Extinction, and there was no dancing. There were also several 500 pound bouncers with forearms bigger than Oprah's thighs there, but that didn't stop them. Two strikes you're out sounds just fine to me.

So, how about them bro kids and starting shit at EVERY show? What can we don to change this?" ready, GO! ding ding ding! It's not the music. it's not the dancing. it's the same kids starting shit, being reckless, immature, and disrespectful. It's weird how every local show that I've been to where these kids don't show up to, there isn't a fight. or not even close to one. then every local show that involves these kids, results in a fight. what could turn into a fight. a fight almost being started. someone getting hurt, who shouldn't have been. and other unnecessary macho behavior. so........how do we change THIS?

Have an announcement at every show telling everyone that if they fight they're kicked out, if they fight again, not only will they be kicked out for good, but the police will be involved. If we stick to our guns on this one, they'll either chill out, or never go to a show again in Eugene. We need to tell them that. We need to tell everyone that, let it be well known.

I know I haven't attended EVERY show, but I'm sure it's well known that if you fight you'll get kicked out. Maybe a fight doesn't break out every show. But the same kids are instigating fights, or trying to cause shit to get sour. Everyone seems to know the kids (the same ones) that fight and go to shows to start fights, yet noone is really doing anything about it. Yeah, we can kick them out when they fight, but in the mean time they're crowd killing, punching random people, and doing whatever and getting away with it. I don't know. I feel like I just keep repeating myself on this whole topic.

Dancing just isn't done right here. lulwut? have you ever been to a hardcore show anywhere else in the world? if you think getting hit by one or two medium sized KIDS is bad, you would hate any other city. It's not the music. it's not the dancing. it's the same kids starting shit, being reckless, immature, and disrespectful. WERRDDD BROTHAAAAAA. Way to look at it from a step back, and not be like, LIKE OMEFFING GEEE ITS THOSE DAMN STRAIGHT EDGE HARDCORE DANCING WIERD DUDEES WITH THE SHORTS AND THE SHORT HAIR!!!! instead you realize, its like 3 kids, and just because they happen to be dancing, and into hardcore music, does not mean everyone into hardcore music, and dancing is as disrespectful.

I've been to bend before, and literally, nobody got hit, even on accident. Yeah, a bunch of em were scrawny scene kids who kicked outward when they 2stepped, but nontheless. I've been to portland. Portlands bad. I like the bands that come through portland, not necessarily the ppl.
